Modernisation of an SSP 110
At the beginning of this year, our team in Poland carried out a successful modernisation of an SSP 110 ballast plough. This ensures that the nearly 30-year-old machine can be used for many more years to come.
In 2020, the Polish track construction company LWZ, part of Leonhard Weiss group, bought an SP 110 ballast plough which was originally deployed in Denmark. To get it ready for the work envisaged in Poland, our Polish office was commissioned with the modernisation of the machine.
This modernisation was carried out under enormous time pressure since the machine had to be provided to a work site in Czechia. However, the Deutsche Plasser team was able to meet the deadline.
The work included the modernisation of the work systems and the machine electronics as well as fitting new LED lighting and new camera systems. The work was carried out in Wągrowiec in the first quarter of 2021.
With regard to the work systems, the focus was on modernising the centre plough and shoulder ploughs. In the electronics system, the wiring of the transducers and the signal control of the fuses was updated to the latest technology. Robel carried out the necessary repair of the power axles; they were fitted by the Polish service team of Deutsche Plasser in Poland.
Speedy execution according to schedule
The work was carried out speedily and according to the schedule agreed with the customer. LWZ was very happy with the execution and quality of the work and is already planning another co-operation with our Polish workshop.
“We are pleased to have been able to complete this order so successfully and are ready for future projects”, says Jakub Dzierżanowski, who was responsible for the project implementation on our side.
